JOB SUMMARY: – JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose of this role: Compliance with all statutes that apply to financial information and internal controls relevant to maintain integrity of financial information.Key Performance Areas: Prepare reconciliations including, but not limited to bank, creditors, VAT and payrollSubmission of monthly VAT and EMP returns and bi-annual EMP501 submissionsPreparation of monthly payrollMaintain the Fixed Asset RegisterMaintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and dataAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecastsAssist in the preparation of audit filesEnsure all accounting records are intact, readily accessible and safeguardedPayroll – including monthly salaries and wages, Third Party contributionsAccounting for leave pay and bonuses – 2 entitiesVAT – Reconciliation and submission for 3 entitiesReview monthly reconciliation of creditorsAssist with preparation of Pastel accounts and monthly reconciliationsProduce monthly accounts to be reviewed by the accountantReconciliation of all intercompany loan accountsMaintenance of fixed asset register and reconciliation to general ledgerEnsuring correct general ledger allocations Computer literacy: Competent in Pastel, Excel and OutlookBookkeeping or Legal Software package advantageousAbility to work on various platforms Qualifications and experience required: At least 6 years experience in an accounting environmentDiploma or degree in Accounting / preferableExperience at a law firm advantageousKnowledge of attorney’s trust accounts advantageousKnowledge of BEE reporting an advantage
